Vetiver essential oil, also called khus oil, is extracted from the vetiver plant, a clumpy, green grass native to India. The extraction of vetiver oil is mostly done using conventional methods such as hydrodistillation, steam distillation and solvent extraction. Vetiver oil is often used in aromatherapy and is known to help alleviate stress, repel insects and can help with nervousness or insomnia. When used for cosmetic purposes it assists in repairing skin and cell rejuvenation.
